Pipestem Resort State Park
Located in Summers County, Pipestem State Park is the "Year-round Crown Jewel of West Virginia State Parks".
Pipestem offers a great variety of lodging, dining and recreational activities. This park is a breathtakingly beautiful place to come to spend a day or a week.
Lodging Options:
McKeever Lodge has 113 guest room and suites. Amenities include indoor heated pool, game room, sauna, hot tub and exercise room. Located inside the lodge is the Bluestone Dining Room and The Black Bear Snack Bar.
Mountain Creek Lodge, accessible only by aerial tram, is open mid-May through October. This lodge offers 30 rooms and houses the Mountain Creek Restaurant. Be sure and make reservations for a delicious gourmet dinner when visiting Summers County.
Deluxe cabins: Pipestem has 26 fully equipped cabins with 2 to 4 bedrooms. One cabin is accessible and four are pet friendly.
Camping: Campground has 82 total sites. 31 with full hook ups, 19 electric. Amenities include bathhouse, laundry, camp store and playground.
Meetings:
For small gatherings to large corporate groups, Pipestem can host your event. With a total of 16,796 square feet of conference space, there are a variety of meeting rooms available. Pipestem has full service banquet facilities, A/V equipment and a group meeting staff available to assist you in your planning.
Recreation:
Pipestem is home to two challeging golf courses. The first a year-round 18 hole, par 72 championship course with breathtaking views of the Bluestone Canyon. There is also a 9 hole, par 3 course available. Both courses have rental carts, pro shops, driving ranges and lessons are offered.
In addition to the indoor pool at McKeever Lodge, there is an olympic size outdoor pool available. The recreation center also has miniature golf and tennis courts.
Pipestem has a Nature Center with scheduled activities, hiking trails, birding opportunites, sledding and cross country skiing (rental equipment available).
Year-round guided horseback riding adventures are available. Tours range from 1/2 hour to overnight. The stables also offers hay rides.
Entertainment:
Pipestem offers a variety of planned events throughout the year: themed weekends, dinner theaters and festivals (see calendar of events). Also, throughout the summer you can enjoy live Saturday evening entertainment in Pipestem's Outdoor Amphitheatre. Performances vary weekly but includes rock, oldies, blues, bluegrass and plays.
